The process starts with an appointment for a free consultation

The consultation is aimed at forming the brief for the design of the garden and evaluation of the budget required to build the new garden. Prior to the arrangement of the consultation visit, the client is informed of the starting budget required for a design & build service for a garden of the relevant size.

Various format garden layouts are presented to determine the style of garden required along with a checklist against which the client may confirm the brief. The checklist shows the uses of the new garden, such as :

Planting effect required and favourite plants are also discussed at this stage and available options are then discussed to include hard landscaping materials such has paving, gravel and decking, extras such as water features, sculpture, lighting and finally furniture. These options are chosen from a selection of available materials and features and at the close of the consultation a budget is discussed and agreed.

The next stage is the submission of the design

A second appointment is made to submit the proposed design of the garden in order to determine if any changes are required. On acceptance of the design a contract is drawn up as confirmation that the client agrees with the design, build schedule and the agreed budget. The contract is signed by both parties.

The client may keep the design once the contract is signed and a deposit of 30% of the agreed budget is paid. (cleared funds). A start date for the build is then agreed.

The Build

Most builds take approx 4/6weeks depending on weather conditions and is closely monitored throughout.

The outstanding balance is paid on completion of the build.

How much does it cost?

An example of the starting budget for a garden area of 80 sq m is approx £4,500-£5,000. This can then be adjusted by quality of materials used, addition of water features and lights etc.
